About Me
My name is Carl, and I'm a software engineer based in Helsinki, Finland. I'm a proud Hive Helsinki alumni and have been programming actively since 2019, professionally since 2022.
My coding journey began in university, where I learned how to use R and Python for data analysis. At the time, I was studying political science and later social data science. However, I ended up enjoying coding so much that I decided to pursue a career as a software engineer, and I've been on that path ever since.
My main focus today is full-stack web development with a so-far quite even emphasis on frontend and backend development.
Professionally, I currently work mostly with Next.js, Node and Java. In my free-time I like to learn about other languages, stacks and tools. I'm particularily fond of Kotlin and Go, both for very different reasons.
Aside from full-stack development, I also have an interest towards lower-level programming, an interest that stems from my time at Hive Helsinki, where most of the curriculum uses C as the mandatory language.
If you're curious to know more, feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn, I'd be happy to chat.
